Wawa will open its first Ohio location in mid-2025 as the convenience-store chain adds about 60 stores in the Buckeye State.The Pennsylvania-based chain said in December 2022 it would expand into Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. On Tuesday, Wawa said it would add about 40 stores in Kentucky. Wawa has "more than 16 sites" under contract in Ohio and is looking for more. The goal is to open as many as 10 Ohio stores in 2025, another 10 in 2026 and then five stores annually for eight years. Joe Collins, Wawa's director of store operations, said groundbreakings will begin in 2024.
